Children’s Needs Assessments

A holistic review of educational, health, and social care needs.

Our Children’s Needs Assessments provide a comprehensive, holistic review of a child’s educational, health, and social care requirements. We work closely with families, schools, and professionals to identify strengths, challenges, and the support needed to help children thrive.

By taking a whole-child approach, we ensure recommendations are tailored and practical, promoting positive outcomes in learning, wellbeing, and development. These assessments form a strong foundation for planning interventions and accessing appropriate services.

These assessments are carried out by experienced social workers who collaborate with families, schools, and health professionals.

The process includes gathering information from parents, teachers, and relevant agencies, as well as direct observation and discussion with the child where appropriate. We review academic progress, health records, and social circumstances to create a complete picture of the child’s strengths and challenges. This enables us to provide tailored recommendations for support, interventions, and resources that promote positive learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Our assessments are delivered in line with the below guidance, regulation and legal requirements-

  • Children Act 1989
  • Children and Families Act 2014
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children (Statutory Guidance)
  • Care Act 2014 (Section 58)
