Psychology Services
Psychological Assessments are vital to evaluate mental health and behavioural functioning, especially in social care and legal proceedings. At ACCA, our assessments are tailored to offer critical insight, helping professionals and courts determine the most appropriate care and support for individuals.
Importance in Legal Cases
ACCA’s psychological assessments are specifically designed to provide valuable evidence in court cases, including pre-proceedings, by offering thorough evaluations that inform legal decisions. This evidence helps ensure that the support and care provided to individuals are legally sound and tailored to their needs.
Our Assessments
- Risk and Need Psychological Assessment: Our tailored Psychology Assessment is unique to ACCA. We mitigate risk by identifying traits and behaviours that impact a person’s ability to care for themselves or their child. This assessment can be conducted in as little as ten days.
- Full Psychological Assessment: Our highly trained, HCPC-registered psychologists conduct a detailed evaluation to assess traits related to conditions such as ADHD, Autism, mental health disorders, and personality disorders. The findings focus on how these traits impact daily life, parenting abilities, or cognitive functioning.
Cognitive Assessment: This assessment measures cognitive abilities, identifying strengths and weaknesses that offer deeper insight into an individual’s mental capacity and learning potential. It provides a clear understanding of areas that may require additional support.
Risk Assessment: Risk assessments evaluate psychological and social factors that may put the individual or others at risk. The evaluation determines whether someone is classified as high, medium, or low risk, guiding appropriate care and support strategies to mitigate potential harm.
Areas of Impact
Family Court & Child Proceedings: These assessments provide crucial information by identifying behaviours, traits, and habits directly related to parenting capacity. The results offer detailed insights into the impact of psychological factors on parenting and child care.
Adult Social Care: In social care, psychological assessments evaluate an individual’s mental and behavioural functioning. These assessments identify needs and determine how mental health conditions affect daily living, helping to decide appropriate support levels.
